  • About Department

    Electrical Engineering is one of the oldest branches from time immemorial. It is one of the fundamental branches of science and technology on which all other modern branches of engineering have evolved from. Electrical and Electronics engineers work in a variety of fields including power sector, machine design, renewable energy sector, biomedical engineering, aerospace industry, communications industry and information technology. The department of Electrical and Electronics engineering was started in 2001 with an intake of 60 students. The department has well established laboratories. The department has well qualified and dedicated faculty. The students of the department are regularly exposed to the latest trends in the field of electrical and electronics engineering through regular industrial visits, guest lectures and workshops etc.

  • Strengths
    • 17 well experienced and highly qualified teaching Faculty and 3 Non-teaching staff.
    • Good infrastructure with class rooms, seminar hall, staff room, department library, centralized internet center and R & D Cell.
    • We conduct laboratories in Electrical Machines, Networks, Measurements, Control Systems, Power Electronics, and Power Converters.
    • Department has got computational facility with ten systems and also MATLAB, MULTISIM licensed software.
    • The students are placed in top MNCs like IBM, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Wipro, Microsoft, Oracle, HSBC, HCL, Syntel etc.
    • We encourage students and staff to present and publish the papers, research articles in reputed international / national conferences and journals.
    • Students of EEE actively participate and achieve remarkable appreciations & prizes in co-curricular activities like Paper Presentations, Project Expos, National Level Symposiums, Internship Programs, Sports and other cultural activities in various engineering colleges.
    • Students participate in Social Activities like NCC (National Cadet Corp) Village Campaigns, Blood Donation Camps and Environmental Awareness Programs.
  • Programme Educational objectives (PEO's)
    • PEO- I :To provide a good foundation in mathematics, sciences and engineering fundamentals to make them globally competent to excel in Electrical & Electronics Engineering field.
    • PEO- II :To encourage students towards importance of power sector, green and energy efficient sources and to train them in critical issues of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
    • PEO- III :To inculcate ethical values and aptitude for lifelong learning that enables them to stay abreast with latest technology needed for successful professional career.
    • PEO- IV :To equip graduates with the communication skills and team work with multi- disciplinary approach and zeal to provide solutions for complex engineering problems.
  • Programme Outcomes (PO's)

    Engineering Graduates will be able to:

    • Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
    • Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
    • Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
    • Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
    • Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
    • The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
    • Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

    Ability to apply technical skills and modern engineering tools, to develop new products useful to the industry and the society.

    Ability to apply the knowledge in the domain of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, to demonstrate their proficiency through experimentation, modeling and realization.

    • PSO- I :Able to design and analyze energy efficient and ecofriendly power and energy systems by employing control strategies related to power electronics, power systems applications for societal and industrial requirements.
    • PSO- II : Able to apply cutting edge engineering hardware and software tools to solve complex Electrical and Electronics Engineering problems.

  • HOD PROFILE

    Dr. D.Padmavathi, B.E., M.E., Ph.D., LMISTE, FIETE, IEEE received her B.E in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Gulbarga university in 1990, M.E in Electrical Power Systems from Bangalore University and received her PhD in Power systems and High voltage Engineering from JNTUH in 2011.

    She has over 25 years of teaching experience in various engineering colleges including as HOD (EEE) at JBIET for 10 years and at Vignana Bharathi Institute of Technology for 3 years. She is also an active member of LMISTE, FIETE & IEEE.

    She has organized a couple of National conferences and also co-coordinated many activities like Workshops, FDP'S, Guest lecture's in her career .

    She has also published over 50 papers in International conferences and Journals. She has authored a text book on Electromagnetic fields. She was invited to many National /International conferences and delivered talks there. She has delivered over 20 Guest lectures in various prestigious Engineering Colleges.
